Tournament News
 Planning for the 2008 Thanksgiving Tournament is underway!  The next meeting will be held Monday 11/17 at 7:00 at the LIBRARY (note venue change).  We need a representative from each team for the committee.  Ad Book information has been emailed to the coaches or can be downloaded here.  Absolute cutoff for ads is 5pm Saturday Nov. 15.

CPR Training
CPR Training is mandatory for all coaches.  There will be a class on Saturday, November 1st at 9am at the Municipal Building. 

Coaches' Game
 The 8th Annual Coaches' Game was be held on Sunday November 2 at 7:00pm at WD Park.  Thanks to all the coaches who participated and their many fans.

General Meetings are held the last Monday of the month at 7:30 in the Municipal Building from February - November.

Meeting in December for elections and final reports for the year.

     Note: A team representative must be present for at least 2/3 of the General Meetings for teams to receive their tournament fees from the club. Members in good standing who have attended at least two meetings during the year are eligible to vote at the Election Meeting.

Girls' Traveling News
SJGSL schedules are posted on their website.  Please check the website and your email for cancellations or field changes due to weather.  Coaches found playing on the incorrect fields may be fined!  Saturday September 6 was rained out and is rescheduled for November 22.

Coaches MUST report their Saturday scores by Sunday night or face a fine.  Please remember to report your score.

U14 and up Girls are being encouraged to train to become referees.  Please visit the SJGSL website and click on the Referee Course link for more information. Courses fill up quickly, so keep checking.

Minutes from monthly SJGSL meetings are now available on line at their website, http://www.sjgsl.org. Coaches are encouraged to check the website regularly for important information.

Boys' Traveling News
Weather related cancellations are listed on the SJSL website and Bill will contact coaches if home games are canceled. The deadline for canceling games is 9am.  Please call your opponent first, then your team members.

With the Arbiter Referee System, Bill knows who will be refereeing ahead of time so he will schedule game fields based on that. 

Please make sure game cards are completed front and back and are legible.  Coaches are reminded that they are responsible for parents' and spectators' behavior and that the referee's decisions are final.  The Code of Conduct is on the SJSL website.

Fall Training
Fall Training is again being provided by Youth Soccer Alliance.  Training began the week of August 18 and ends the week of October 20.  Training nights are Mondays and Wednesdays with goalie training on Tuesdays.  Coaches were emailed their schedules.

Field Coordinator
After over three years of hard work, Brian Fahey is stepping down as Field Coordinator.  Thanks to Brian for his dedication to what can often be a thankless job.
Our new Field Coordinator is Jim Snyder.  Welcome!

No Smoking
There is NO SMOKING at any club activity.  Please be considerate of the children and refrain from smoking near the fields.  Thank you.

Fields
All practices will be held at RiverWinds. 

Banquets
Traveling banquets were held January 17 - 19.  Thanks to all who attended, to the teams for providing door prizes and to Denice DiCarlo for her hard work planning the events.  A good time was had by all.  The banquet is a nice time to recognize our players and coaches and to get to know the other members of our club.  We were privileged to have the Antczak family attend the U13/14 banquet to be formally presented the Herb Moyer award for Teresa Antczak who passed away in November.  Teresa served the club as treasurer for many years and was well known for her support of our club and the girls' high school team. 

Micro Mini & Intramural Banquet
The Micro Mini and Intramural Banquet was held on Tuesday November 13 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at the Deptford Skating Center.   There was pizza, skating, and lots of fun, and each player received a participation trophy.  Thanks to Dana and Mark for a great season!

Referees Rule Interpretation Change
The 2006 Annual General Meeting of the International Football Association Board (IFAB) took place in Lucerne, Switzerland on March 4, 2006. Coaches, referees and even spectators will be interested in the changes.  The amendments to the Laws of the Game made at the meeting and the various instructions and directives are listed in the attached links:
